Keystone Christian Preschool offers a Parents’ Morning Out program for children between the ages of 18 and 29 months and a part-time Preschool program for children who are 2½, 3, and 4 years old. Enrollment is determined by the age of the child as of September 1st.
This program runs from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. We offer 2-day and 3-day classes for our 2½ year olds; 2-, 3-, and 5-day (limited number) programs for our 3-year olds; and 5-day classes for our 4-year olds. Our Preschool follows the Hillsborough County Public School calendar and runs from August through May. Preschoolers have the option of arriving as early as 8:30 a.m. at the rate of $6/hour, and all of our preschoolers may stay for Kid Konnections between 12 noon and 2 p.m. at the rate of $6/hour, pro-rated to the quarter hour.
The curricula for our preschoolers are theme-based series. Each maintains a balance between supporting a child’s acquisition of skills and knowledge and the joys and delights of experiencing a playful childhood. Emergent literacy and emergent writing experiences are provided within well-planned activities and implemented play opportunities to meet the individual needs of each child. These activities will develop skills and knowledge in all learning domains through topics that young children find interesting. These domains include: language development, emergent literacy, cognitive development, social and emotional development, approaches to learning, and physical and health development.
We will assist the children in cultivating their approaches to learning, including:
• increasing persistence in performing tasks;
• developing an eagerness to learn new things; and,
• showing curiosity about the world in which we live.
These skills are necessary in order for children to become resilient and to be confident in their abilities.
Christian values will be modeled and encouraged through thoughtful interactions and positive reinforcement.
Parents’ Morning Out Program:
Our Parents’ Morning Out (PMO) Program runs from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. We provide developmentally appropriate experiences in a safe and nurturing environment. These experiences will include numerous interactions between adults and children, reading stories, singing songs and moving to the music, learning finger plays, using large muscles on the playground and developing small motor skills through play in various interest areas and classroom activities. Language development and social/emotional growth are two important facets of these early learning years.
